  • Super fresh! We roast everything to order and ship within 2 business days of roasting. Our importing partner specializes in getting green coffee to roasters quickly while maintaining quality. Once you order, we roast and package it immediately with one-way degassing valves to maintain freshness. You'll get coffee that was roasted just for you, not something that's been sitting around for months.
  • Keep your coffee in a cool, dry place away from light and heat. Once you open the bag, use an airtight container (we recommend our Airscape containers) and store it at room temperature; don't put it in the fridge or freezer. Properly stored coffee will retain its flavor for 2-3 weeks after opening. Still, it's so good that you'll finish it well before then!
  • It depends on how you brew! Here's the simple breakdown: Coarse grind for French press, medium grind for regular drip coffee makers, medium-fine for pour-over methods like V60, and fine grind for espresso machines. If you're not sure, medium grind works for most home brewing methods. And remember - grinding right before you brew makes a massive difference in taste!
  • Specialty coffee refers to beans that score 80 points or higher on a 100-point quality scale. It's about growing conditions, processing, and careful handling from farm to cup. Our coffee meets these standards through our importing partner's rigorous selection process, which is why it tastes so much better than grocery store coffee. It's like the difference between a fast-food burger and one from a great local restaurant - you know when you taste it.
  • It's simple and flexible! Choose your coffee, select how often you want it delivered (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), and we'll take care of the rest. You can modify, pause, or cancel at any time through your account. Most people enjoy having fresh coffee delivered every 2-3 weeks, but you can adjust the frequency based on your coffee consumption. It's all about you and your preferences.
  • Absolutely! You can change your coffee selection, delivery frequency, or shipping address at any time before your next shipment is processed. Simply log in to your account or send us an email. Life changes and your coffee delivery should be flexible enough to change with it.
  • No problem! You can pause your subscription for as long as you need or skip individual deliveries. We don't want your coffee sitting on your doorstep getting stale while you're on vacation.
  • We'll send you an email reminder a few days before each shipment so you can make any necessary changes. You can also check your account at any time to view your next delivery date.
  • We work with a specialty green coffee importer that's been connecting coffee producers with roasters for decades. They have sourcing relationships in over 30 countries and maintain deep partnerships at origin, which means we get access to excellent coffee while supporting ethical practices throughout the supply chain. Our importing partner handles all the complex logistics and quality control, allowing us to focus on roasting your coffee to perfection.
  • Absolutely! While we don't have formal certifications like Fair Trade or Organic, we deeply care about the farmers and families behind our coffee. Our importing partner focuses on building strong relationships with producers and ensuring commitment to high-quality practices. They support fair labor practices and environmental stewardship. We believe in doing the right thing, even when there isn't a fancy label to prove it. When you choose our coffee, you're supporting these values, too.
  • Great question! Certifications are expensive and complicated and don't guarantee a better cup of coffee. Many amazing coffee farmers can't afford the certification fees, even though they're already growing coffee naturally without the use of chemicals. We'd rather invest our money in providing you with better coffee and supporting farmers through our importer's direct relationships than paying for paperwork.
  • Usually, bitter coffee means you're over-extracting - either your grind is too fine, your water is too hot, or you're brewing too long. Try a slightly coarser grind or cooler water (around 200°F). If you're using a drip maker, make sure you're not using too much coffee for the amount of water.
  • This usually means under-extraction - your grind might be too coarse, water too cool, or you need more coffee. Try a finer grind or use a bit more coffee. The golden ratio is approximately 1:15 - that's roughly 1 gram of coffee for every 15 grams of water.
  • Good water makes good coffee! If your tap water tastes good, it's probably fine for coffee. If it's heavily chlorinated or has a strong taste, try filtered water. The water temperature should be around 200°F - that's just off-boiling.
  • We roast and ship within 2 business days of receiving your order. Most orders arrive within 3-5 business days via the United States Postal Service (USPS). And remember, orders over $30 get free shipping! You can trust that your coffee will be on its way to you in no time.
  • We ship to all 50 U.S. states via USPS or UPS; however, we can't ship to PO boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or U.S. territories, including Puerto Rico and Guam.
  • If you catch us before we roast and ship (usually within 24-48 hours), we can make changes or cancel your order. Please email us at customerservice@justlovecoffee.com or call us immediately. Once it's roasted and shipped, we can't stop it, but we can help you with returns if needed.
  • We want you to love your coffee! If you're not happy with your order, contact us within 14 days, and we'll make it right - whether that's a replacement, a different coffee, or a refund. We stand behind our quality and want every customer to be satisfied.
  • We don't offer sample sizes, but we do have some smaller 8oz bags of select coffees. If you're unsure about a coffee, our customer service team can help you choose based on your taste preferences and brewing method.

  • Every coffee roast in our Cause Coffee program supports a wide range of causes, including adoption assistance, veteran support, cancer research, and community programs. Different coffees support various causes - you can view the cause each coffee supports on its product page. It's coffee with a purpose!
